Hello, Loves. Hope your week is going well. I had the honor this week of visiting The Wequassett Resort and Golf Club, for a travel editorial. Let me just say between packing, blogging, and juggling a hectic schedule - it was exactly what the Doctor ordered. I have visited my fair share of resorts, but this is my favorite to date.

The resort offers several room options ranging from cozy weathered cottages, to elegant suites. Our suite was beautifully decorated, well appointed, with the type of luxurious bedding that makes you want to linger in the morning. The bathroom was stocked with Molton Brown toiletries, an abundance of fluffy white towels, double sinks, and an over sized shower. Get this... the suite had it's own fire pit! Seriously, I thought they were going to have to drag me out kicking and screaming when I spotted that baby, but then remembered the kids and dog back home.

The grounds are perfectly manicured, with brick paths and glorious flowers in bloom at every turn. I even spotted two bunnies frolicking around the grounds. The property overlooks the sea, that is dotted with colorful sailboats, and the most fantastic beach in the distance. The beach is accessible via the resorts's boat, and if you get lucky, you might even spot a seal along the way. Years ago, when the kids were young, we took the boat to the beach. It felt like our own private little island, because it is very quiet due to the fact that it is only accessible by boat.

The main pool area is a spectacular display, with an abundance of lounge chairs and shaded cabanas. There is a big fire pit near the pool where guests can linger at night, soaking in the fragrant scent of flowers, and the sea, that drifts through the humid summer breeze.

If you tire of lounging poolside by one of the resorts two pools, there are countless activities to keep busy. Activities include golf, tennis, a well equipped fitness center, and there is a children's program for parents who just need some downtime.

Wequassett offers several dining options. Twenty-Eight Atlantic features delectable dishes created by Executive Chef, James Hackney, who skillfully turns each dish into a work of art. Let's just say, that man can cook!

Thoreau's has the most charming pub-like atmosphere and makes me dream of spending crisp Autumn afternoons in front of the cozy fireplace.

Everything about Twenty-Eight Atlantic was impressive. The staff made us feel like royalty and our waiter, Alex, went above and beyond.

We began our meal with hearty fresh baked rolls, served with creamy butter, olive oil and sea salt. For starters we ordered a Watermelon Goat Cheese appetizer, garnished with watermelon foam and dressed with Balsamic Vinegar.

I ordered the Atlantic Halibut over sea beans, asparagus, and fingerling potatoes with sauce mousseline. It was light and scrumptious. My friend ordered the Pan Roasted Salmon over eggplant cavier, red pepper puree, zucchini and squash. For dessert we split a Key Lime Cake that was served cold and somewhat foamy in texture. It tasted very light but had a tangy lime flavor that made my taste buds do a little dance.

The pool area at night comes alive under illuminated lights. There is a main fire pit, and live music from LiBAYtion, the outdoor bar and grill, whose main bar is covered under a beautiful pergola. Families linger there making ice cream sundaes, and taking in the music. While their children grow sleepy, their parents think to themselves: This is a moment I will cherish forever.

I cant' recommend The Wequassett Resort  highly enough. It is just a short distance from the charming town of Chatham whose Main Street is lined with charming boutiques and restaurants. It also is THE perfect resort for a destination wedding.

I would like to extend a huge thank you to Mark Novato, General Manager, for providing me with gorgeous accommodations, and making this editorial possible. I would also like to thank Florence Kiernan, for her help with the arrangements. A big thank you as well to the entire staff, who were beyond gracious and my visit such a memorable experience.
